Come Together

Well, I'm home. Slalom was really funny, I loved it, so next year I'll deffinately try it again in Norway. It was surprisingly easy though, I mean, it was my first time, and at the end of the second day I was like the best in my family... Even when I first tried I was better than my sister, but the again, she's 6.

After skiing the 31th of December we went to Utsunomiya to "celebrate" new year. In Japan you don't really celebrate, so me and my hostmom was the only ones who stayed awake til midnight, watching television, was nice though.

On the first day of the new year we went to a temple to "pray" for the new year, which consisted of hitting a bell with a beam and get your fortune for the year. After temple we went to karaoke, really hilarious, especially since my hostdad and my hostmoms brother drank a bit to much, haha.

The second day Nene, Kaori and I went to Utsunomiya zoo, which I loved since you could feed most of the animals. My favourite was, as always, the tiger, and it was a lot of fuzz around that animal specially, because this year is tiger year. Don't want to explain what that means, but for those who wonder, us born in 1992 are born in the year of the monkey. After the zoo I went shopping, at the cheapest store in the whole prefecture or something like that. I bought a sweater for 30NOK, which is nothing.

The third we went home, but before we really got home we went to chinatown in Yokohama to eat lunch with my hostdad's family from Okinawa. Really nice, and I love chinatown, it really looks like China. Only thing wrong is that it is (like the rest of Japan) amazingly clean. I don't see how the japanese do it, since they don't have garbadge cans in the streets or anything...
